Guidelines from Team Bethlehem
At Bethlehem Matrimonial, we bridge traditional family values with modern compatibility needs. Once a mutual interest is established, direct communication between candidates is highly relevant but it must remain structured, purposeful, and dignified. It is not an avenue for unlimited dating.
1. Purpose: Serious Evaluation, Not Casual Dating: Treat this phase as a formal exploratory step towards marriage, not as a casual, open-ended relationship.
2. Exclusivity: One Conversation at a Time: Multi-tracking or engaging in parallel long-term communication with multiple candidates simultaneously is deceptive and may be Breach of Trust.
3. Boundaries: Absolute Physical and Emotional Sanctity & Physical Limits: Physical intimacy is sacred and belongs exclusively within the bonds of marriage.
4. Timeline: Mutually Agreed and Defined: Families must mutually agree on a reasonable window, ideally 4 to 8 weeks, for candidates to arrive at a decision.
5. Transparency: Continuous Family Involvement: While candidate privacy is respected, they must provide regular, honest updates to their parents regarding the progress of their talks.
6. Graceful Closure: If compatibility is missing, the candidate or family must communicate the refusal promptly, honestly, and respectfully, allowing both parties to part ways with dignity.
